Life Legacy


Kevin E. Kellermann, age 52 of Woodlawn, Illinois, entered into rest on Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at his residence in Woodlawn.

Mr. Kellermann was born on January 23, 1958, in Breese, Illinois, a son of Eugene and Melba (Michael) Kellermann. He married Kathy A. Lesher on October 27, 1979, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman and she survives in Woodlawn.

Mr. Kellermann is also survived by his mother – Melba Kellermann of Carlyle; 2 brothers – Rodney “Mark” Kellermann and wife Barbara of Patoka and Michael Kellermann and wife Debra of Carlyle; his mother-in-law – Janet Lesher; a sister-in-law – Linda Moulin and husband Jess; a brother-in-law – David Lesher and wife Nikki and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son – Grant Kellermann on December 12, 1992; his father – Eugene Kellermann and his father-in-law – Marshall Lesher.

Kevin worked at Fairmont Supply in Mt. Vernon and had previously worked at Rockwell/Cambridge/Meridian for 23 years. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Carlyle and enjoyed yard work, gardening and the St. Louis Cardinals. Kevin rarely met someone who didn’t become a friend.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 17, 2010, at Messiah Lutheran Church in Carlyle with Rev. Steve Sommerer, officiating. Interment will follow at Carlyle Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held at Zieren Day Funeral Home on Friday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. and on Saturday from 8:00 – 10:30 A.M.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Mr. Kellermann the American Cancer Society (for Pancreatic Cancer research), SSM Hospice of the Good Samaritan or to Messiah Lutheran Church Building Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home.
