Biography

Flo Ann Buehler was born on July 17, 1928, in Belle Prairie, Illinois, a daughter of Joseph and Eulalia (Karcher) Eswine. She married Lloyd G. Buehler on July 19, 1947, in Piopolis, Illinois and he preceded her in death on July 17, 2004.

Mrs. Buehler worked at a dress factory in McLeansboro, Illinois and was a loving housewife and mother. She enjoyed quilting, making baby toys and crafts and canning fruits and vegetables. Flo Ann was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Carlyle, an honorary member of the U.S.S. Indiana Association and an active member of the Wilson County Senior Citizens Center in Lebanon, Tennessee. Mrs. Buehler was the matriarch of the Buehler Fan Club.

Flo Ann Buehler entered into rest on Thursday, July 22, 2010, at her residence in Carlyle. She was 82 years of age.

Mrs. Buehler is survived by 7 daughters – Anne Tomlinson and husband David, Donna Cushing, Mary Ashby and husband Jim, Barbara Tomlinson and husband Donald and Paula Piercey and husband Gregg, all of Lebanon, Tennessee, Jeanie Deiters and husband Ed and Geralyn Isenberg, all of Carlyle, Illinois; 3 sons – Lloyd J. Buehler and wife Marlene of Centralia, Illinois, Bill Buehler of Lebanon, Tennessee and David Buehler and wife Donna of Carlyle; 23 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; a brother – Louis Eswine of Festus, Missouri; 2 sisters-in-law – Gloria Eswine of Coco Beach, Florida and Florence Eswine of Chesterfield, Missouri and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; a daughter – Carolyn Buehler on January 3, 1970; a grandson – Bradley Deiters on June 4, 1971; a son-in-law – David Cushing; 2 brothers – Oscar and Bill Eswine and a sister – Regina Speros and husband Tony.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 24, 2010, at St. Mary’s Church in Carlyle with Fr. George, celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Carlyle. Visitation will be held at Zieren Day Funeral Home on Friday, July 23, 2010, from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. and on Saturday from 8:00 – 9:30 A.M.

Memorials in memory of Mrs. Buehler may be made to the St. Mary’s Church Baptismal Fountain Fund and will be received at the funeral home.
